Call, hold, send on and finish: what staff do all day.

The desk buttons

Button	What it does
Call next	Calls the next person who can be seen, skipping anyone on hold or awaiting payment.
Call a specific person	The arrow next to Call next. Shows the whole line, to call someone out of order, call someone back or mark them paid.
Hold	The person steps out for a sample, an X-ray or a payment. They keep their place at the front and the desk is free for the next person.
Send on	Finishes here and sends them to one of the next stops in the flow.
Complete	Finishes their visit.
No show	They didn’t come forward after being called.

Coming back to the same room

Someone sent back to a service they have already visited, such as back to Consultation after the laboratory, returns to the room that saw them. Call next in that room picks them first.
